Difference between Billiards and Snooker

Billiards is an indoor game, played on a table, 12ft by 6ft-1.5 inches. It is usually played by two persons. Each has one white ball and his aim is to hit the two other balls in succession or to glance off one of the other balls into one of the  six pockets round the table. He can also score by driving the red ball or his opponent’s ball into a pocket. A player continues to play until he fails to score, his period of play is called a break.

Whereas Snooker is a game played on a billiards table with 15 red balls, 6 balls of other colours and a white cue ball.
